NFH and its partner CAP Sonoma, are teaming up to provide a free first time home buyer workshop on May 12, 2011 at the office of CAP Sonoma in celebration and support of Affordable Housing Week sponsored by the in Sonoma County Housing Coalition.
- SALT Lauches Program to Acquire and Rehab Foreclosed Properties

Local nonprofits are running a program to provide local workforce families with affordably priced homes in Marin. Under its "REO Homes for the Workforce Program" - SALT & NFH are buying bank owned homes, rehabbing them to improve their energy efficiency and then re-selling them at a discount to low & moderate income households. We are providing down payment assistance for qualified families. Our aim to buy 20 homes in the next 12-18 months.
The first 2 homes, close to transit, schools, jobs and shopping, are secured and receiving green improvements. SALT will immediately perform repairs and upgrades and have the properties ready to sell by March 2011. Our work is funded in part by the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, the Marin Community Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation and PG&E.
- NFH Holds "Help for Homeowners" Seminar on Foreclosure Prevention- to be run on local access Channel

NFH held a public workshop at City of Novato City Hall on Ocotber 25, 2010. NFH offered well received education and information to the public on how to preserve homeownership and prevent unnecessary foreclosure through the loan modificaiton process. At this seminar, NFH hosted two experts in the fields of short sales and bankruptcy for distressed homeowners for whom a loan mod is not feasible or optimal.
- NFH makes prestigious Rex Rolle Award to Hamilton Elementary School Teachers

On June 9, two teachers at Hamilton Elementary School received the prestigious Rex Rolle Award that has been presented by Northbay Family Homes since 1994 to Hamilton teachers who have demonstrated the dedication to the profession evinced by the award's namesake. Rex Rolle was the first Principal of Hamilton Elementary School, when it was restored after the Air Force left and Hamilton was closed in 1976.
